Patrick has a lifelong passion for writing and research. Combining elements of history, media and film analysis, his non-fiction works provide his readers with a thorough understanding of how historical events are presented to audiences in recent times through to today.
Patrick began his journey into writing in his early twenties and soon began writing scripts for a local television production. His experience in writing for stage and screen supported him through his MA and PhD, both at Portsmouth University. Patrick was awarded his doctorate in 2021. Following the completion of his PhD, he published 'The Knights Templar in Popular Culture: Films, Video Games and Fan Tourism' with McFarland & co in March 2022. In May 2025 his second book "The Knights Templar: Crusade, Myth and Hollywood" was released in the UK with The History Press. An international release is set for October 2025.
